The Museum is pleased to offer financial assistance for Mobile VR Trunks for schools that meet certain criteria. This scholarship program enables more educators and students to learn about the Holocaust from the perspective of a Survivor.
Qualification Requirements
- Request your trunk (link) and receive confirmation that your chosen dates are available before applying for a scholarship.
- Submit scholarship application at least 30 days before your trunk is scheduled to ship.
- At least 50% of students eligible for free and reduced lunch.
Scholarship Requirements
In order to continue to provide Mobile VR scholarships, it is essential that the sponsors understand the impact of their support.
Schools awarded a Mobile VR Trunk scholarship must complete one mandatory “Letter of Thanks” to Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center written by the teacher(s), incorporating student feedback and the benefits gained from the Mobile VR experience. This letter must be received within 60 days of the end of your Mobile VR Trunk loan.
Schools that are awarded a Mobile VR Trunk scholarship must complete the online feedback evaluation after their Mobile VR experience.
Schools will be invoiced for the total cost of borrowing the Mobile VR Trunk if a “Letter of Thanks” is not received. Schools who do not send a “Letter of Thanks” may not be considered for future scholarship opportunities.
