Today, as candles are lit in remembrance of the 79th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, and with commemorations across the globe in observance of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we remember the victims and Survivors of the Holocaust.
As an institution founded and built by Survivors of the Holocaust, we are inspired by their courage, resilience, and endurance. Because “never again” means telling the story again and again. Their messages and lessons shared empower our work, drive our mission, and push us to continue to confront ignorance with education and indifference with engagement. And so, on this day of remembrance, the Museum is proud to share the testimony of Holocaust Survivor Eva Kor about her liberation 79 years ago today.
Eva is just one of the many Survivors whose stories echo through the halls of the Museum. Join us today to remember their stories, either on-site or through this virtual tour of the Zev & Shifra Karkomi Holocaust Exhibition (use password Shtetl24!). Please take a moment to reflect on the lessons of history and join the Museum as it works to remember the past and transform the future.
