On-Site “The Armenian Genocide”
For Educators in Grades 7-12
In this workshop, participants will visit the Spagat Family Voices of Genocide exhibition and explore the theme of “We and They.” Examination of primary and secondary sources will illuminate the stages and choices that led to the Armenian Genocide, including the impact of growing Turkish nationalism during the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, the challenges faced by Armenians as they advocated for equal rights, and the forces that contributed to the systemic violent persecution of Armenians in the midst of World War I.
