On-site: Life Before 1933: Jews, Roma and Sinti, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and LGBTQ Life Before National Socialism

January 25, 2024 | 9:30am CDT

Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center

For Educators in Grades 6-12

The Nazis targeted numerous groups, many of whom were defined by aspects of their identities. To truly understand the Holocaust, it is essential to learn about these peoples not solely through the lens of victimization, but as vibrant religious, ethnic, and cultural communities. In this workshop, participants will explore the experiences and cultures of Jews, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Roma/Sinti, and LGBTQ+ communities in pre-Nazi Europe.

Workshop Includes:

  • Classroom Resources
  • Breakfast and Lunch
  • 4.5 Clock Hours/CPDUs
