On-Site Program: Echoes of History: Is This the Holocaust?

February 8, 2024 | 6:30pm CDT

9603 Woods Drive, Skokie, IL 60077

The Hamas terrorist attacks in Israel on October 7, 2023, have brought back memories of pogroms and anti-Jewish violence that echo through Jewish families and their history. How do those parallels help us understand current events? At what point do those comparisons cause harm by distorting history?

This session will clarify how the past can help us address the present day as we work toward the future. Join Stephen D. Smith, Founder of StoryFile and Executive Director Emeritus of USC Shoah Foundation, as he explores this topic.

This program is part of the Museum’s “Understanding & Confronting Anti-Jewish Hate” community series.

Free to the public. Reservations required.

Community Partners: ADL Midwest; Evelyn R. Green AJC Chicago Regional Office; Sheerit Hapleitah; Loyola University Chicago Jewish Faculty, Staff and Allies (JFSA) Affinity Group
