On-site: “Uncovering the Holocaust: Death Marches and Liberation 1944-1945”
For Educators in Grades 7-12
As the tide of World War II turned against the Axis Powers eighty years ago, the Nazis attempted to retain forced labor and hide the extent of the inhumane conditions in the camps by forcing prisoners to endure excruciating journeys known as death marches. Participants in this workshop will use testimony and artifacts from local Survivors to explore the experiences of prisoners on death marches and of newly-liberated survivors. Educators will receive primary and secondary resources and strategies to introduce this important aspect of WWII and Holocaust history to their students.
Workshop Includes:
- Classroom Resources
- Tour of exhibition
- 4.5 Clock Hours/CPDUs
