On-Site & Online Jones Day Foundation Community Series | A Time for Action: Rising Hate Crimes & Antisemitism

March 7, 2024 | 6:30pm CST

On-Site & Online

In recent months, hundreds of thought leaders, university faculty, alumni, donors, and officials around the country have denounced administrative paralysis in the face of rising antisemitism – because they understand that antisemitic attacks are threats to all Americans, not just the Jewish community.

To resist the normalization of antisemitism, we must first recognize and understand it. For generations, families have fought the good fight by combating intimidation, hate speech, threats, and other illegal actions against Jewish people. As part of our Jones Day Foundation Community Series, a special series of events focused on confronting antisemitism and hatred in all its forms, we bring you a powerful discussion with three of today’s leaders in the fight against antisemitism. Speakers will include:

Matthew E. Berger, President and CEO of Mashber Strategies and former Executive Director of the Foundation to Combat Antisemitism, who led the development and launch of the Cannes Lion Award-winning “Stand Up to Jewish Hate” campaign, a $25 million advertising campaign to educate non-Jews about modern antisemitism and empower them to address hate in their communities

Brette Steele, Senior Director for Preventing Targeted Violence at the McCain Institute, who established and served as Deputy Director of the U.S. Countering Violent Extremism Task Force, which coordinated all federal efforts to prevent violent extremism in the United States

Dr. Casey Babb, International Fellow at the Institute for National Security Studies in Tel Aviv, Fellow with the Royal United Services Institute in London, England, and Professor of International Security at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs in Ottawa, Canada

The panel will be moderated by Michael Gray, Partner at Jones Day and Museum Executive Board Member.

A pre-program reception will begin at 5:30 PM.
Reservations required. Free to public.
