On-Site Commemoration: Inaugural Central U.S. Commemoration of the Srebrenica Genocide
Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center, the Islamic Community of North American Bosniaks, and the Congress of Bosniaks of North America present a first-of-its-kind commemoration on U.S. soil in honor of the 29th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica, where war crimes and crimes against humanity all around Bosnia and Herzegovina culminated in the systematic murder of more than 8,000 Bosniak men and boys.
This inaugural U.S. commemoration will feature remarks from dignitaries, government officials, activists, and representatives from the three presenting organizations, emphasizing our collective responsibility to remember Srebrenica and take action to prevent present and future atrocities.
