Film Screening: Where Neon Goes To Die
In celebration of Jewish Heritage Month, join WTTW and the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center for an in-person screening of the acclaimed film Where Neon Goes To Die by filmmaker David Weintraub. The film explores South Beach’s vibrant Yiddish community that was created by Jewish immigrants and retirees after World War II. It looks behind the pastel glitz of Miami Beach to a distinct and unique culture that ultimately was destroyed in the name of community redevelopment.
Before the screening, Weintraub will give a presentation about the film and the issues it raises.
Free to the public, reservations required.
Film Length: 56 minutes
