Off-Site Film Screening| Chicago Festival of Israeli Cinema: “Soda”
A beautiful seamstress moves to a kibbutz of Holocaust survivors in 1956. Rumors about her past (as a Capo) shake up the neighborhood, and especially Shalom, the leader and a former brave resistance fighter, who is torn between his passion to the beautiful woman and his commitment to the community to reveal her past.
There will be an intro and follow up discussion with Director Erez Tadmor. He is a prolific writer-director from Tel Aviv. A graduate of the Camera Obscura Film School, his first short Moosh won over then 40 international film festivals awards. His first feature Strangers (with Guy Nattiv) was accepted at the Sundance World Cinema Dramatic Competition, 2007. He has been winning international awards for his dramatic and comedic work ever since. Matchmaking 2 and Soda represent the 8th and 9th Tadmor films the CFIC has shown in the past 15 years.
